The Mount Prospect Historical Society plans to return the Central School to its historic role as a community center. We will make the Central School available to independent groups, children, and the public. To do this, we will need your continued support. Click here to learn how you can support the efforts.
Moving a building to save it may seem dramatic, but it is not that uncommon. In Mount Prospect many buildings have been moved. For example the buildings located at: 808 E. Central, 804 E. Central, 10 S. Pine, 105 S. Maple, and 107 S. Maple have all been moved. 808 E. Central has been moved twice. The Central School has also been moved before. It originally stood on the corner of Central and Emerson, where the public library is today, and was moved in 1939.
